Ooops - this post should really have gone up before the one about our Skara Brae visit but I'm sure that's not too important! As part of our learning about Skara Brae we had one of the Rangers, Elaine, come into school and talk to us about it. It was very exciting because she took along the box of replica artefacts for us to see.
We enjoyed learning about Skara Brae and seeing all the artefacts.
Primary 4 had a busy trip to Skara Brae on Friday - although it was very windy it didn't rain and the sun even shone when we were out! We managed to fit a lot into the day, including a trip to Skara Brae, the beach (where we built our own Skara Brae houses) and the Ring of Brodgar where we learned a few facts about it and played a game.
Sorry for not having many recent posts on the class blog recently - things have been hectic in Primary 4! We have some very special photos to put up on the blog page today so do hope you enjoy looking at them. We had a fantastic day out on Friday visiting the poppies at the Cathedral followed by going to see the Battle of Jutland exhibition at the Orkney Museum. We then had our lunch in the Tankerness House Gardens (in the sunshine - yaaaaay!) and then spent the afternoon on board the naval ships which were in Orkney for the Battle of Jutland commemorations. Ms Rendall hopes this is something the class will remember for a long time!
